Joe Kelley Joe Kelley

Vice President and General Manager of Star Market

In April of 2016, Joe was named to the new position of Vice President and General Manager of Star Market. He  joined the Shaw’s & Star Market team in October of 2015 and oversees Marketing and Merchandising for the company. He has more than three decades of experience in the grocery industry. He started working at Purity Supreme in 1985 and his food retailing career flourished from there. Joe’s most recent roles at food retailers in New England and across the Nation include the following: Executive Vice President, Chairman, CEO and President. In addition, his vast experience also includes volunteering and serving on Food Association and State Food Bank Boards and Leadership Committees.

Russ Greenlaw Russ Greenlaw

Director of Operations

Russ is a Star Market veteran having worked at Star from 1989 to 2000. He held the role of Store Director from 1991 until his departure. Russ was a key player in the integration after Star was acquired by Shaw’s. Since 2000, Russ has held various roles in the world of food retailing, including Vice President of Operations, Assistant to the Executive Vice President and most recently as a Senior Vice President of Operation. Russ recently returned to Star Market as the Director of Operations.

Director, Sales and Merchandising

John is the Director of Sales and Merchandising for Star Market. His long and dedicated career with Star Market began in 1986 as a bagger at the Porter Square store. John progressed through store operations and became a Store Director in 1995. He managed several high profile store locations and was promoted to the role of District Manager in 2013. Before becoming the Director of Sales and Merchandising, John worked on special projects related to Star Market. John received his BS in Business Administration / Studies from Bentley College. 

Leeann Dias Leeann Dias

Director of Marketing

Leeann began her career with Star Market in 1981 as a Management Trainee. She worked in store operations for ten years and then was appointed as the Service Division Manager for the Rhode Island Division at Star Market. Her vast career also includes working in the following departments: Human Resources, Merchandising and Marketing. In February of 2016, she moved back to Star Market as the Director of Marketing. Leeann received her BA from Providence College.

Cindy Garnett Cindy Garnett

Vice President, Human Resources and Labor Relations

Cindy started her career with Shaw’s & Star Market 35 years ago as a bagger and worked in  the stores for several years before entering the Human Resources department  as an Employee Benefits Administrator. Cindy has held several leadership roles with Shaw’s including Associate Relations Manager, Manager of Store Management Training, Market Area Human Resources Director, and Vice President of Human Resources prior to being named Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations. Cindy has a BA in Human Resources Management from Southeastern Massachusetts University and a MBA from University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
